Join us to meet the candidates running for your HOA!
Thursday, February 16 at 7pm

The Quail Valley Fund is the HOA that services most of Quail Valley.  The Fund has 7 directors, and two of those positions are up for election this year.  As part of that process, Quail Valley Proud hosts a “Meet the Candidates” night, allowing Fund homeowners to ask questions of the candidates for the two open Board positions.

Our Meet the Candidates event is scheduled for next Thursday, February 16 at 7 PM in the Azalea Room upstairs at the Quail Valley City Centre.

Here are the candidates:

Roderick Lee (incumbent)

Roderick has lived in Quail Valley for approximately 8 years and has attended 12 board meetings in the past year. Roderick has served on the Quail Valley Board of Directors for the past 4 years and has been the Vice President for the last three (3) years. He is committed to doing his part to solve as many issues as possible and make Quail Valley Fund the best community possible for now and in the future. Roderick has been in public services for 30 years and is an Army Veteran working in health care.

Jennifer McCalmon Obi (incumbent)

Jennifer grew up in Quail Valley and returned to raise her own family, making her a resident for over 20 years. Since serving on the board the past 3 years, she has attended all meetings as well as all meetings the 2 years prior. Jennifer provides the HOA monthly Real Estate Report, serves on the QVE PTO, is the founding member of the Quail Valley Mothers' Club, a Quail Valley Proud member and an active participant in community events, activities, and outreach.  A previous career in IT Consulting Services, required her to work in both small and large teams to achieve client success. Experience as a Realtor also gives her the ability to work with different personalities and perspectives. Jennifer believes in community, connection, and service.  She has made community involvement a top priority. When she sees a need within our community, she enjoys working with others to find a solution.  Her goal as a resident and local Realtor is to always strive to help QV thrive by encouraging growth and involvement.

Nicholas Seier

Nicholas Seier is a Certified Public Accountant with 21+ years of risk advisory leadership. Nicholas is a member of the exchange club of Missouri City and a standing committee member of the Quail Valley Swim Team, the Dolphins. He is also an active volunteer foe the Quail Valley Proud community events organization and is actively interested in the history and preservation of the QV ‘North Pole Village’ tradition on Boca Raton Court. Together, with his family, he brought neighbors together in bringing back the magical holiday lights to Boca Raton Drive, as they were 30 years ago. In his spare time, Nicholas enjoys chess, gardening, and spending time with his extended family who also live right here in Quail Valley. Nicholas will be an asset to the Board of Trustees as he enjoys continuous engagement with stakeholders about a broad range of financial, operational, and strategic challenges. He will openly engage with all members of the Quail Valley neighborhood on issues important to them. Nicholas brings with him a new perspective on the following topics: (1) enriching our QV Fund Newsletter; (2) improving upon the short/long-term budget; (3) engaging with the community at large to find financially viable tenant/purposes for the unused office space at the QV Fund’s Office (providing a return on the Board of Trustees’ investment for the QV community); (4) implementing a rotation of presentations about topics important to members; and (5) building a larger/more engaged alliance with members.

Tanner Williams

Tanner has lived in Quail Valley for two (2) years and has not attended any meetings in the past year. Tanner has twenty (20) years working with the American Federation of Teachers (AFT), nationwide union representing 1.7 million educators and public-school professionals. Currently Director of Operations for Texas AFT. Tanner believes he would be an asset to the Board of Trustees because, he listens, he gets results, he has ideas on how we may improve engagement of homeowners, families and our community.

The format we follow starts with each candidate making a brief introduction, followed by some standard questions asked by the Quail Valley Proud moderator.  From there we will open the floor to questions from the audience. We will limit answers to conserve time.

This year we will attempt to offer this forum virtually for those that do not want to attend in person.  Questions can be asked through the chat function on line.

Information about the on-line portion of the event will be added here when available.
